Scale Practice Idea Part Three
Here's part three of the scale practice idea. This adds on to the two previous parts by adding a scale form. This will free you up creatively and let you practice more scale forms.
We'll start with the first and second scale form of the minor petnatonic and have a two chord progression to use.
This example shows The two chords and a lick that moves between the two scale forms. The key for the tab: h = hammer on, p = pull off, / = slide up.
To extend this idea, find chord shapes in other scale forms. Create a progression with those chords or just keep a simple two chord progression and move around between scale forms. The idea is the break up the monotony of practicing scales and to put scale in a context of how you'd use them musically. Added on: 2010 01 18
